Our Proud Project
A Legacy Built on Vision and Purpose
Empowering learners through flexible education and new beginnings.
In 1961, the Bihar Board Girls Hindi High School was started, followed by the ICSE English School in 1964, at the request of parents from Kadma and Sonari. Over the next five decades, the DBMS campus grew into a vibrant educational hub with nearly 5,000 students, offering quality facilities and consistently achieving excellence in board examinations and college admissions.
As demand grew, there was a strong request to start a college. However, realizing that a conventional university-affiliated college might not fully address students’ needs, the vision shifted towards empowering women through technical and career-oriented education.
Around this time, the opportunity to affiliate with the National Open School (NOS) of the Central Government emerged. Accreditation was secured, and in 1992, DBMS Career Academy began offering academic courses under the open schooling system, welcoming both boys and girls.
This initiative provided a valuable second chance to students who were unable to cope with the pace and pressure of ICSE and CBSE curricula. Students who had left formal schooling were given the opportunity to complete their Secondary and Senior Secondary education with flexibility and support.
The guiding philosophy of NOS — “Learn at your own speed, but learn well” — instilled confidence, resilience, and independence in learners. As a result, many students went on to succeed in colleges and competitive examinations.
DBMS Career Academy thus emerged as a deeply fulfilling and impactful educational project, addressing real societal needs and transforming lives through inclusive and flexible learning.
